About

Sir Charles Todd K.C.M.G., if he is known at all in his home state of South Australia, is best known for completing the Overland Telegraph connecting Australia to the world.  With the approach of the 140th anniversary of the completion of the Telegraph in 1872, members of societies and professional associations representing Todd's full range of professional activities got together with historians and Todd family members to mount a Todd Symposium on August 17th, 2012.

As a result of this very successful event it was decided to create a more lasting homage to a pioneer largely ignored by history.  This website is the result, an ongoing effort to document all facets of this great man's life.

Comments and contributions from the public are welcome.
